HUntEr BOy

SO funny story. Our routine for bedtime now is that after bath and getting Hunters teeth brushed either Cory or I will read Hunter some books. Last night I was really tired and had already read Hunter 5 or so books. He still wanted me to read another one. He has this potty book that he especially likes right now and I told him that I was all done reading and we were going to have prayer. so we kneel down for prayer and he is still holding the potty book. I was helping Hunter say his prayer and we were about to the end when he says "thank you for mommy reading the potty book." We try really hard to keep a straight face when he says the prayer or he will just try and be funny but this time I couldn't help laughing. and yes he got his way and I had to read the potty book. Another funny thing is when he will tell me about the dreams he had. The other day he told me that he found the piston cup ( ya know off of the movie Cars) on Annabell's ls sponge bob chair and gave it to Landon. It was so random that I knew that it must of been something he dreamt about. To top it off that night he even said "thank you for me finding the piston cup for Landon" in his prayer. He is always making us laugh and smile. AND last but not least the big news. NO MORE DIAPERS!!! Its so nice to not have to change stinky poops anymore. He has been in underwear for a little over a week now and he is doing great. I have to remind him allot but if he does have an accident its usually just a little tiny spot. We have been putting him on the potty for a few months now hoping he would catch on but just recently he decided he was ready. I think he realized how much more comfy undies are instead of a wet diaper. We are super proud of our big boy.

Steal of a Deal

On Saturday we went to an Estate sell. They had allot of books sitting out and I asked how much for a book. The girl there told me 5 cents. 5 CENTS!!!! I was excited because there was allot of retro looking books which I buy from the DI for 1 dollar and 2 dollars a piece. I like to decorate with them around my house. So while browsing Cory found a Bible from 1869. It is so cool. We have been trying to find out if it is worth any money. One web site has one for 40 grand and eBay has one for 150 dollars. so who knows but it is still cool. We also got a whole set of encyclopedias from the 50s which I think will look good on shelf behind a desk in our future house in the future office. All in all I think we ended up with 45 books for 3 bucks.

Fish for Dinner Tonight

We went fishing the other day at the river bottoms and caught some fish. Cory is always saying that we should fillet the fish so we don't have to pick out the bones. Soooo the other day we had Cory's brother come and show us how he does it. I have done about 12 fish now and I can get a decent amount of meat off of the bones. Its fun to learn a new skill.

Summer 2011

This summer has gone by waaaaaay to fast. Since we don't have internet it has been hard to find the time to go to a source and update my blog. I am finally getting some post on the things we have been up to this summer. The other day we tried a day of big boy undies and Hunter some how got outside with no pants on (again). He was so cute riding around on his little trike and his rain boots. Its good to get caught up and I'm sure I'll get behind again unless I can get Cory to buy me some internet. ;)

Parades and Rodeo

This year the Lewiston parade come right in front of house. Hunter didn't exactly know what to think but he had a little friend he pointed out all the candy he wanted her to get him. He would point and she would put it in the bag. The Preston parade he got a little more into it. That is the picture below where he is proudly holding up his candy. We also took him to his first Rodeo. He wasn't to entertained by it and was really tired by the end. Cory and I liked it though. Maybe next year he will be more interested.

Summer FUN

We have had allot of fun adventures this summer. Hunter loves the water so we have been swimming quite a bit this summer. Our little man is growing soo fast. He loves to talk talk talk. He is pretty good at talking in sentences. He likes to watch cartoons in the morning but before to long begs to go outside. He has his tricycle he zooms around on. He continually tries to ride down the sidewalk to the park. These days he insists that he doesn't need a nap. The only way possible to get him to sleep for a nap is to take him on a car ride. He is always trying to make us laugh. This summer has been loads of fun I hate to see winter come.

Hogle Zoo

Recently we met up with Jess and Shane and there two kids Mckinley and Kaden to go to the Zoo. This year they had dinosaurs set up around the park. Hunter was soooo scared of them. At one point he came around the corner and one of them surprised his so he immediatly started backing up in the other direction. This time we decided to pay a little extra and go on the carrousel. Hunter had allot of fun on that. The monkeys were a big hit with the boys. Thanks for the going to the zoo with us Jess and Shane.

SLeEpY TiMe

Lately Hunter has had some Interesting and cute ways of falling asleep. My favorite was just a few nights ago he managed to get his stuffed monkey to hold him while he fell asleep.

This time took off his diaper and all his clothes before he decided to take a snooze.

This reminded me of when he was just days old and he put his hands the exact same way.
We love our sweet little guy.

Little house projects

I finally got my house decorated the way I like it(for now my taste change to fast). I still have a few things in the front room to put up like a mantel on the fire place, family pictures, and drapes. I finally got a rug put down in there which I think pulls it all together. Last weekend my mom and I cleaned out some of our "treasures" and took them to a yard sell to sell. People were so cheap and put back things when we told them they were a dollar, but I managed to earn enough to replace our dining table light. I had been waiting since we moved in to replace it and I found one at Ikea that was only 50. So with my garage sell money I was able to buy it. I really like the way Hunters room turned out. We still have to put in closet doors but its mostly finished. SO many projects so little summer. (and for some reason I have had a hard time keeping a pair of shorts on Hunter this summer)

WiLd LifE EncOuNteRS and Millie

So this summer we got a new dog. Her name is Millie and She is a black lab, mastiff mix. This time around has been so easy. The biggest thing is she is an outside dog which fits in so much better with our family. We could tell Hunter missed our other dog Saydee that we had to sell so we decided to try one more time to get a puppy that would be good for him. So far so good and I'm sure she will be Hunters friend for a long time to come. Also this summer we have discovered that toads or a toad likes the little pond we have in the front of our house. One night we caught this fat toad in our pond and showed it to Hunter. He was curious about it but when it got to close to him he took off in the other direction. Another encounter we had this summer was with a bird that Cory hit with my car on the way home from work. The car had been parked in the driveway for sometime with the bird stuck dead hanging from the bumper. Hunter didn't notice it till we showed him and then he proceded to scream and run to hide around the back corner of the house. Poor little bird didn't even see Cory coming.

1 year older and ......... well just older

Today I'm turning 23. I don't think I quite feel my age and If I'd known that I would be sealed in the temple, have a 2 year old healthy boy, and a house by this time I think I would have worried less about how things would turn out. I still worry to much. Our house renovation has put us in the poor house so we decided that we will have a night in relaxing at home. There are so many things on my birthday wish list but most of them apply to getting our house put together. We finished our tile in our shower today so it will be a luxury just to take a shower at home. (after we buy a shower curtain rod) I'm loving our new house (besides the unfinished parts), being a mom daughter and a wife, working in our own yard, planting flowers, being healthy, and knowing who I am and where I come from. I'm so grateful for my testimony, my Savior Jesus Christ, and all the eternal truths I know. There might be allot a things on my list of wants but all my needs are taken care of and being part of an eternal family who loves me is what really matters most.

We're making progress

These are the now pictures. We still aren't to the afters but we are getting close. As you can see our bathroom currently looks the worst but I think our block looks pretty cool and it was free! Our fire place is also a big eyesore right now. We are planning to put some old looking brick and a mantel on it when we get to it. Our room is the green one and Hunter's room is the blue with the bigger closet. Our floors are really dirty to from all the dust in the house but Cory did an awesome job on them. So yeah this is the mess we are working on right now but we are making progress.
